Alix Napholz - Arena GymnLevel 9

Currently training Level 9/10, Alix Napholz was born on October 25, 2007, to Meegan and Tom Napholz. Alix got her start in gymnastics at the young age of just 18 months and wanted to follow in her sister’s footsteps of being a gymnast. In October 2013, Alix began competing level 2 as a six year old with Precision Gymnastics. Alix competed level 2 through the spring 2014 season and then went on to compete level 3 during the 2014-2015 season. Halfway through her level 3 season, Alix began training with Jersey Shore Elite. At the New Jersey Level 3 State Championships, Alix placed seventh on beam and eighth all around in a tough age division.
During the summer of 2015, Alix continued to train new skills and was able to skip levels 4 and 5 and went on to compete level 6 during the 2015-2016 season. Alix had a solid level 6 season and concluded her season at the New Jersey State Championships. As a level 7 during the 2016-2017 season, Alix began her season at the Jingle Bell Rock Meet where she won the floor title and placed fifth all around. Alix continued to improve her all around score throughout the season and had a personal best on floor at state where she earned the bronze medal with a 9.625.
Alix opened up her 2017-2018 level 8 season at the Kick-Off Classic where she placed third on beam and floor. Three months later, Alix competed at the New Jersey State Meet where she went on to qualify for the Region 7 Championships. Alix had her best meet of the season at regionals, placing fourth on floor and earning a 37.100 in the all around. Although regionals concluded Alix’s level 8 season, six weeks later Alix competed in the Auburn National Elite Qualifier. Alix finished the optional qualifier with a silver medal on floor and a bronze medal on bars. Currently, Alix trains 28.5 hours per week under coach Jacqui Strickland at Jersey Shore Elite Gymnastics. Alix started off the 2018/2019 season coompeting in the compulsory Elite qualifer at Parketts in PA. She missed the qualifying score and competed again at the Buckeye Classic in Ohio. Alix & her Coach decided to finish the season as a level 8 and start training for level 10. Alix competed at the Pink Invitational in Philadelphia and Placed 1st. on Bars, Beam, Floor & AA and 3rd. on Vault. She then competed in the toughest age division in the NJ state meet as a Jr.A She took 8th place on Floor with a 9.5 and finished with a 36.7 qualifying for the region 7 regionals. Unfortunatley due to a Patella fracture on her right knee she wont be able to compete. Alix switched gyms in July of 2019. She is currently training at Arena Gymnastics. She trains 20 hours per week and will be competing level 9 for the 2019/2020 season.

Ariel Posen

I am a 14-year-old gymnast competing Level 10 at MG Elite in Morganville, New Jersey. This past year I lived away from home with a host family because my family lived on Long Island and I believed that the coaches and gymnasts at MG Elite would help me achieve my personal best. I pride myself on being dedicated and determined in everything I do, so this decision did not surprise my family. It was hard living away from home, but it was worth it. I had a great season, thanks to my coaches, Maggie and Vicky, who truly know how to bring the best out of me.
I was 2018 Level 10 NATIONAL FLOOR champion and second on vault. I was also REGIONAL ALL AROUND (38.525) and BARS (9.85) champion and NJ STATE ALL AROUND, BARS and BEAM champion. I also got a 38+ on 5 meets this season and placed first All Around in 5 meets including Parkettes and Fantasia. I also received my highest level 10 beam score (9.8) at the Woga Classic. The icing on the cake was having my bars and beam scores on the top 100 and being nominated to the Top 45 Gymnasts.
I continue to upgrade all my skills and work hard to keep getting better. I especially love bars where my goal is to get a 10.0 and to be one of the best on bars in the country.
I have been very fortunate to have had many successful years in gymnastics. In 2015, I was Level 8 Region 6 Champion and placed first in All Around, Bars, beam and vault. I was also chosen to attend many Elite Developmental Camps. In prior years, I was also Level 7 All Around, Beam and Floor Champ and Level 6 All Around and bars champ. I have verbally committed to UCLA for the class of 2022/23 and can’t wait to be a Bruin!

Ashlee Sullivan - WOGALevel Junior Elite

Ashlee started gymnastics in a mom and tot class when she was 18 months old. Full of energy and never afraid to try something new, she quickly advanced and started competing Level 3 at age 6. Ashlee also enjoyed dance and took 5 years of ballet. However, once she started HOPES training, a decision had to be made and chose to continue in gymnastics.
In 2019, Ashlee had just turned 12 and was starting her first year of Level 10 and plans to qualify HOPES 12/13. She was thrilled to be attending developmental camps and meeting amazing girls. Ashlee's first Level 10 meet was Texas Prime where she won 1st AA, 1st Vault, 2nd Bars and 3rd on Beam, but most important she qualified for Legendz! A fun exhibition meet. Level 10's second meet for her did not go as well. After the second rotation, Ashlee was injured on beam and unable to complete the competition. The injury turned out to be a severe bone bruise that sidelined her for 4 weeks.0

Ava Griffith - Aftershock Level 8

Ava Griffith got her start in gymnastics at the age of two in mommy and me classes. When Ava turned four, she started to get bored in recreational classes and was invited to join the pre-team. Within a few months of pre-team, Ava joined the level 3 team just as she was turning six. Shortly after, Ava and her family moved due to her father's job in the Marine Corps. With no gyms closer than an hour, Ava tumbled at a local dance studio. After over two years of tumbling at the studio, her coach said that she needs to get into a gym, which is when Ava began training at Aftershock. Ava began competing Xcel Bronze in the spring of 2016 and finished first on vault, second all around, and third on beam and floor at the SoCal State Championships. After competing Xcel Bronze, Ava was moved up to level 3. Ava competed three meets of level 3 during the fall 2016 season, winning two of them. Halfway through her level three season, Ava's family moved to Brazil. After training for nine months in Brazil, Ava's family decided to send her to live with her aunt in Florida and train at Evo Athletics. During the 2018 season, Ava competed level 6 with Evo. At her first meet, the CGA Coaches Spectacular, Ava won the beam and all around titles. Ava continued to have a great season and went on to win the Florida State beam and all around titles. From state, Ava advanced to the Region 8 Championships where she won the beam and floor titles. Following her 2018 season, Ava's family moved to Rome, Italy and Ava joined them. During her time in Rome, Ava trained at Gymnastics Romana. In the fall of 2018, Ava and her family returned to California and Ava began training at Aftershock Gymnastics once again. Ava competed level 7 during the 2019 season and opened up her season at the Arizona Grand Invitational where she won the bars and all around titles. In March, Ava competed level 8 at International Gymnix and finished second on beam. One week later, Ava competed at the SoCal State Championships as a level 7 where she brought home a bronze medal on floor and fifth place finish in the all around. Ava concluded her season at the Region 1 Championships with a fantastic performance, earning her season highs on vault, bars, beam, and in the all around and winning the bars, beam, floor, and all around titles. Currently, Ava trains 34 hours per week under coaches Alison Vaughn and Staci Stevens at Aftershock Gymnastics. Ava is working on perfecting her Hopes skills and has a goal to qualify Hopes in 2020. In the future, Ava hopes to qualify elite and earn a college scholarship for gymnastics.

Avalon Campbell Level 10

I am a 15 year old Level 10 gymnast at SCEGA Gymnastics. I came to SCEGA Gymnastics in 2015 as an 8 year old level 4 and a TOPs kid. My first year I made it to TOPs National Testing, and completed my Level 4 season as the SoCal State Beam and Floor Champion. In 2017 I scored out of Level 5 and moved to Level 7, and continued my TOPs journey. My second year I made TOPs B Team and invited to Development Invite Camp. For Level 7, I was the SoCal State Beam Silver Medalist and Region 1 Regional Beam Champion. I performed a 9.95 beam routine at the Long Beach Open!
In 2018, I moved on to Level 8 and did my last year in TOPs as a 10 year old. I was a TOPs A Team Member, attended A Camp and won Physical Abilities. I was the Level 8 SoCal State Bar Champion, and Floor Silver Medalist, and the Region 1 Regional Bar and Beam Champion, and the Floor and AA Silver Medalist. 0
In 2019, I competed as a Level 9. What a great season! I was the Level 9 SoCal State Beam Champion, Bars and AA Bronze Medalist. I went on to Regionals and had my best meet of the season! I was the Region 1 Regional Beam, Floor and AA Champion, Bars Bronze Medalist, with an AA score of a 38.275. And I hit my beam routine with a 9.90! I qualified to Westerns, but unfortunately due to illness, I was not able to attend. 1
In 2020, I worked hard to compete as a Level 10. I had all my routines ready to go, but broke 4 toes right before season started. In order to get back out there, my coaches made the decision to compete level 9 again, and I was excited to try for Westerns, since I missed it the year before. I competed bars and beam in 3 meets, winning beam each time (high score of 9.825) and bars once (high score of 9.60). Unfortunately, right as I was ready to add vault and floor back in before State meet, the country shut down for Covid. As we all know, post season was completely canceled. 2
Here we are at the beginning of 2021, and I made it to Level 10! So far, I started the season at Fiesta Bowl and competed all 4 events. I hit all routines, and won bars (9.725) and floor (9.775), 2nd on beam (9.60). It was especially exciting because I debuted a new floor routine that I love! I came in 2nd AA (37.90). My hope is to have a successful season and make it to Nationals as a first year level 10.

Brinlee Christensen - Olympus GymnasticsLevel 10

I'm 14 years old, I'm competing my first year of Level 10 this season, I train at Olympus Gymnastics in South Jordan, Utah. I’m honored to have been selected as a Gymnast of the Year nominee and thank all those that have helped me get to this point.
I had a great Level 9 season finishing first on Vault and third All Around at the Utah State Championships. I then qualified to the Western Championships after placing second on Vault, Bars and All Around at the Region 1 Championships. I then earned gold medals on vault and bars, a bronze medal on floor, and sixth all around at the Western Championships. A few other fun notable Level 9 accomplishments: 2019 Winter Classic I took 1st place, in my age division, with a 37.0 which also happened to be the highest all-around score of all Level 9’s in the entire meet. At the 24th Annual Northern Lights Classic I qualified to the event finals on bars and took 1st place.
I’m a hard worker, been told I’m easy to coach, I’m extremely humble and take pride in all that I do. I go to public school, in 9th grade, am enrolled in several honors classes, a straight A student, I have 4 sisters, love doing their hair, spending time with my family, camping, fishing, biking, and most of all just being a kid. Oh and I can solve a Rubik’s Cube in less than 2 minutes. I love going to and watching college gymnastics meets. I've not yet decided what I want to be when I get older, though I do know I want to attend college, hopefully on a scholarship, where I can also continue my love for gymnastics by competing at that level. Hi! I'm Brooke and I'm a level 10 at Sun Country Gymnastics in Gainesville, FL. I started out gymnastics when I was very little and just fell in love with the sport. The amazing environment with friends and coaches really motivates me each day to continue learn and grow! I am in eighth grade and super excited to compete my first season as a level 10! In my previous season, I qualified to level 9 Easterns where I won Beam (9.775) and got third in the all-around! My long-term goal in gymnastics is to earn a full ride scholarship for collegiate gym! I am going to build off my Level 9 season and go in confident and well prepared to build my future as a gymnast.

Delaney Fisher - Georgia Elite Gymnastics Level 10/Jr. Elite

I am so humbled to be nominated for the 2019 Gymnast of the Year! My gymnastics career began in a mommy and me class at 18 months old. By 2yo I was climbing to the top of a 20ft rope to earn the right to pick a trinket from the treasure box. At 6yo I began competing Xcel silver at Gymnastix Training Center in Buford, GA. I advanced each year from Xcel silver to Xcel gold to Level 7,9, and 10. I was a member of the Georgia State Team for Xcel gold (2014) and Level 7 (2015). I also qualified Hopes compulsory in 2016 and 2017.
Gymnastix Training Center discontinued their elite program in 2017 so I made the difficult decision to switch gyms. Jorgen Falk, co-owner of Georgia All Stars, took me under his wing for 4 months and gave me the encouragement I needed to continue the elite path. I finally found "home" at Georgia Elite Gymnastics in September 2017. I had an unforgettable 2018 season which began by earning my Jr. Elite compulsory qualifying score in Myrtle Beach, SC and placing 1st AA. The next elite qualifier was KPAC where I once again placed 1st AA and earned my Jr. Elite optional score and the chance to compete in the American Classic and US Classic.
I ended my 2018 JO Level 10 season at Nationals in Cincinnati, OH finishing 4th AA and being named to the JO National Team. At the conclusion of my 2018 season I sustained an injury which gave me time to reevaluate my goals. I had accomplished a huge goal that I set for myself but no longer felt the elite path was for me. I desperately missed competing with my "team". I petitioned back to JO in 2019 and spent much of the season recovering. I was able to compete at Regionals which qualified me to Nationals where I medaled in bars and beam and placed 11th AA. I am so grateful for the non-competitive opportunities that gymnastics has given me as well. I have attended the US Developmental Team Camp, the JO National Team Camp, 2018 Top Ten GOTY, currently representing Plum Practicewear as a Plum Ambassasor, modeled for the 2018 Ozone Leotard Fashion Show, modeled for Inside Gymnastics Magazine, mentoring young gymnasts, and meeting so many new friends!
I'm so excited for my future in this amazing sport and am focused on my dream of becoming a collegiate gymnast. Everyone has their own unique story....enjoy it and embrace the journey.

I studied the sport of gymnastics as a little girl, hoping one day to actually take classes. I would watch You Tube videos and stare at library book pictures; admiring the beauty of this sport. FINALLY, my parents signed me up, at the age of 10, for my very first recreation class! That was in February 2015. Since then, I have worked really hard to learn as much as I can in a short amount of time! I still study the sport and make goals for myself every season. It seems like yesterday, when I started learning basics on the equipment.
My first season to compete was in 2016 at Level 7. I was able to test out of Levels 2-6 in about 9 months!! My parents and I didn't really understand what that meant as it was happening, though. I just loved learning new skills and my coaches thought I was doing them technically correct. It didn't seem "special" at the time; it just felt "right."
In my level 7 season, it started fantastic! In two meets, I won floor and beam and earned 2nd All Around. Sadly, one day in practice, I fell and broke my elbow. I had to have major elbow surgery and 4 months of rehab. It was so frustrating! As soon as my season started, it was over. But, I fought hard and worked hard to keep a positive attitude, focusing on my future goals. Soon, I was training for Level 8 and moved to Sarasota, FL with my Coach. It was a really big decision and an exciting commitment for my whole family. All of my rehab, and hard work paid off in my Level 8 season in 2017!! It was the first FULL season I had ever competed!! I earned State Champion for Floor and Beam! At Regionals, I won the Floor and All Around Gold!! Last season, in 2018, Level 9 was incredible!! I continued to train hard and learn a lot of new skills. Competing these new skills was definitely challenging, but I embraced the challenge. All season, I was in the top 5 on every event. I won GOLD at every meet but one on floor and beam! I also won All Around at every meet with a high score of the season of 38.500!!
I am the Florida State Champion for Bars, Beam, Floor and ALL Around!! I am the Florida Regional Champion for Beam, Floor and All Around!! Easterns was an amazing experience and I felt so thankful to qualify and compete there. I had a great meet, earning a Silver medal on Floor and 5th All Around. I am currently training Level 10 and hope to qualify as a Junior Elite this 2019 season. Gymnastics continues to feed a deep hunger inside of my heart. That little girl, who just started not too long ago, is still hungry for more!!

Emma Otsu - Airborne Gymnastics

Graduating Year: 2020
Emma Otsu started gymnastics at 2 years old. At 7 years old she achieved TOPS Gold. At 8 years old she made TOPS B Team. When she was 9 she moved to Brestyan's American Gymnastics and trained under Mihai Brestyan. Emma Otsu qualified to the 2014 and 2015 Eastern Championships as a level 9. She later moved to California and competed level 10. In 2017 she was named to the Japanese National Team and competed in several international competitions. In 2018 she qualified to Level 10 J.O. Nationals. In 2019 she was Region 1 Beam Champion. Emma attends Bridgeway Academy and has committed to UC Davis. As a senior gymnast, Emma strives to be a positive role model at practice and in life and works hard to set a good example and support her fellow teammates and friends both inside and out of the gym. Emma is honored to be nominated for MSO gymnast of the year.

Genesis Rivera

Genesis got started in gymnastics at the age of seven as she showed an interest in the sport and was very energetic as a child. Genesis began competing in the fall of 2015 as a level 4. At her first meet, Genesis won the floor title and took second on beam and in the all around. Three months later at the NorCal State Championships, Genesis took home silver medals on beam, floor, and in the all around. As a level 5 in 2016, Genesis had a fantastic season and won the vault, beam, floor, and all around titles at the NorCal State Championships. Genesis began her optional career in 2017 as a level 6 at the Red Heart 10.0 Invitational where she took second on bars and floor, and third all around. Genesis finished up her season at the NorCal State Championships where she had a great meet and won the vault, floor, and all around titles as well as second on bars and beam. In 2018, Genesis competed level 7 and went on to defend her state championship all around title as well as first on vault at state. Genesis also qualified to be a member of the NorCal State Team for the Region 1 Championships. At regionals, Genesis took second on vault and third on floor and in the all around. As a level 8 in 2019, Genesis began her season at the Lady Luck Invitational and came home with the vault title. Two months later at the NorCal State Championships, Genesis came in first on floor, second on vault, and third all around and qualified for the Region 1 Championships. Genesis had her best meet of the season at the Region 1 Championships taking first on vault, beam, floor, and in the all around and taking second on bars, concluding a great season. Currently, Genesis trains 24 hours per week under coaches Melia O'Quinn and Ashot Gasparyan at San Mateo Gymnastics. In the future, Genesis' goal is to earn a college scholarship to a top Division 1 gymnastics program.

Hailey Clark - Orlando Metro GymnasticsLevel 10

I am currently training level 10 at Orlando Metro Gymnastics. I was always jumping around at a young age and was introduced to the sport of gymnastics in my parents’ quest to expose me to different activities. Once I got started with gymnastics, I knew it was what I was meant to do. I started my competitive gymnastics career at Orlando Metro Gymnastics at the age of eight in 2012 and have been there ever since.
After only one year of training, I started competing level 3 in 2013 where I won the all-around State Championship title with a 38.350 and first on balance beam and floor exercise. I moved up to level 4 in 2014 where I placed first in the all-around at the State Championship with a 38.075 and first on vault.
I tested out of 5 and skipped level 6 before moving up to level 7 for the 2016 season. At the State Championships, I finished seventh in the all-around with a 37.025, first on uneven bars and second on vault. I qualified to the Region 8 Championships, finishing fourth in the all-around with a 37.475, first on uneven bars, second on vault and third on floor exercise. I was in America's Top 100 on uneven bars in level 7.
As a level 8 gymnast in 2017, I was listed in America's Top 100 for vault (5x), uneven bars (2x), floor exercise, and all-around (3x). My all-around score of 38.525 at the Gasparilla Competition was the highest score for the entire meet. At the State Championships, I finished third in the all-around with a 37.500, first on uneven bars and second on vault and floor exercise. I qualified to the Region 8 Championships where I won the all-around title with a 38.600. I also earned gold medals on vault, uneven bars and balance beam and a bronze medal on floor exercise.
I moved up to level 9 for the 2018 season. At the State Championships, I finished sixth in the all-around and fourth on floor exercise. I qualified to the Region 8 Championships where I finished in the top ten in the all-around and seventh on uneven bars with a 9.450.
At the Level 9 Region 8 Championship in 2019, I won the all-around title with a 37.925 and first on the floor exercise. This placement qualified me for Eastern Nationals.
I maintain honor roll status in my advance placement (AP) and honor roll classes. I enjoy playing the piano, swimming, and art. I would like to become an elite gymnast as well as obtain a Division 1 college gymnastics scholarship.

Jaelina Villicana - Gymnastics ZoneLevel 9

Jaelina began gymnastics at 5yrs old at Dream Xtreme in Vacaville CA. From the beginning, she exhibited such a joy for performing. She began competing complusory in 2015 as a Level 3 gymnast. At her first State Championship for Northern California, she earned a 2nd on floor and 3rd on beam. As a Level 4 in 2016, Jaelina started to show particular strength on floor and beam, earning many respective first and second place finishes on both events including vault and four AA titles through the season. At State, she finished 5th AA. As a Level 5 in 2017, she began her season at the Dare to Dream Invitational where she earned a 1st on bars, floor and beam, and the 1st AA title. She concluded her compulsory season as a State Beam Champion, 2nd floor, and 3rd All Around.
Jaelina’s optional career began as a Level 6 in 2018. Her first meet began at the California Grand Invitational with a 1st on floor and 3rd on beam. Through this season, she consistently earned top five finishes on all events. At State, she had a solid performance all around and earned a 3rd place title on floor and beam and 4th AA. Her level 6 season concluded at the Region 1 Regional Championships with a remarkable 1st on bars, 1st on beam, and 1st All Around Regional Title with a 38.2500
In 2019, Jaelina had a notably accomplished season! Under the guidance of coaches Melia O' Quinn and Ashot Gasparyan of San Mateo Gymnastics, she competed Level 7 and Level 8. Her first Level 7 meet took place Dec 2018 at the NorCal Judges Cup Level 7 State Team Qualifier. At this meet, she earned 1st on vault, 3rd on floor, and qualified 1st All Around to represent the Nor Cal Team at the National Judges Cup Level 7 State Team Challenge held in Kansas Mo Jan 2019. Here, she helped her team win the 1st place team title. She earned 1st on floor and beam, 3rd on bars, and 3rd All Around. Two weeks later, she began her Level 8 season at the Lady Luck Invitational where she earned a 2nd on beam and 1st on floor. Through the season, she continued to grow and evolve as a gymnast and contributed to her team in team placements. At State, she earned a 2nd on beam and 1st on floor and a 1st All Around State Champion Title with a 37.975. This qualified her for the Regional Championships for Region 1 where she earned a 2nd place floor title. Jaelina valued the experience of her 2019 season as the most memorable in her gymnastics career thus far, maturing as an athlete, and persevering through the rigors of gymnastics, commuting, academics, and a physical growth spurt.1
2020, Jaelina completed a second year Level 8 under coaches Andrew and Erin Pileggi at Gymnastics Zone in Napa CA. During this season, she accomplished what she set out to do. She strengthened her skills on bars and vault. As a result, she showed greater consistency across all events, as well as improving her all around standings at each consecutive meet. The first meet took place at the National Judges Cup held in CA, where she earned a 2nd on floor and beam, 3rd on vault and bars and 2nd AA (36.975) The Texas Metroplex Challenge followed where she earned 1st on floor, 2nd on beam and bars, 4th on vault, and 1st AA (36.900) Next, came Las Vegas Brestyans Invitational with a 4th AA (37.125) At her home meet in Napa CA, she earned 1st AA (37.250) The season concluded at the Arizona Sun of the Valley Challenge with another 1st AA! (37.650) Her season accomplishments qualified her for 2020 NorCal States cancelled by the COVID pandemic. 2

I am a Level 10 gymnast at Metroplex Gymnastics in Allen ,TX. I have been blessed to have been coached by some of the top coaches in the country while I was at WOGA, including Laurent and Cecile Landi, Ryan Roberts, Janelle Evans, and Tatyana Shadenko. Now at Metroplex, I continue to receive world class training under Marnie Futch and Kambri Hoffman. At Level 9, I earned 1st on Beam and 2nd All Around, clinching a spot to Westerns. At Westerns, I medaled on Floor and Beam. As a Level 8 in the 2017 Texas State Competition, I placed 3rd on Vault and Bars, 2nd on Floor, 1st on Beam and 2nd All Around.
I started tot gymnastics classes with my mom and dad when I was 18 months old and have been doing gymnastics ever since. When I was 7 years old, I competed in my first meet on September 8, 2012. I was Level 4 and placed 6th on Vault and Bars, 5th on Beam, 1st on Floor and 4th All Around. I loved competing so much and knew that gymnastics was something that I wanted to keep doing and getting better at for a long time. Through the years, I tried lots of different sports and activities including soccer, softball, ice skating, dance and karate. While I had fun trying out different things, I never felt the drive and love for them like I do gymnastics. I am so grateful to be a part of the amazing gymnastics community and feel so blessed to be able to do what I love every day.

Jersey has always worked extremely hard to balance gymnastic hours with her schoolwork. Keeping her focus on accomplishing her goals and maintaining honor roll throughout elementary, middle, and high school. With class placements in AP as an A, A/B Honor Roll Student. I started gymnastics when I was 5 years old! When I was 6 I switched gyms and did a year of recreational classes before moving up to level 3. I stayed at that gym for levels 3 and 4 and then I followed my coach to Olympus Gymnastics. I then competed at level 5. I didn’t have the best level 5 season so I thought i was going to repeat but I worked really hard and ended up competing level 6 and I had so much fun and I made Utah state team 2018 for level 6. Last season I competed at level 7, and I did very well! I made it on the Utah State team for the second year! And I ended up getting a 38 all around for the first time ever at the region 1 regional competition. This year I am competing level 8 and I am so excited to start the season off!
I love animals! My favorite are elephants and flamingos! I have a collection of stuffed animals and a lot of beanie boos! When I travel to competitions I always take at least 3 stuffed animals with me! My favorite color is pink! My favorite food is ice cream or Brazilian cheese rolls. I love to play animal jam! I have a membership and I log on every single day! I am homeschooled so I can have more time at gymnastics.0

Kate Menake

Kate Menake got her start in gymnastics at the age of three in a toddler class. She loved to hang on the bars and took to the sport right away. Kate began competing in 2013 as a level 3 with Flippin Out Gymnastics and went on to finish third on bars and beam at the New Jersey State Championships. The following season Kate competed level 4, her final compulsory season, and had a great season. At three meets, Kate brought home the all around title and finished third on bars and fourth on floor at state.
Following her level 4 season, Kate began training at North Stars Gymnastics and competed level 7 during the 2016 season. Kate began her optional career at the 1st Sectional and finished first on bars, beam, and in the all around. Throughout the rest of the season, Kate finished in the top 4 in the all around and went on to win the beam title and place fourth all around at the New Jersey State Championships.
Competing level 8 during the 2016-2017 season, Kate began her season at Christmas On The Chesapeake where she won the bars and floor titles and finished second on beam and in the all around. In March, Kate competed at states where she brought home a silver medal on vault. From states, Kate qualified to the Region 7 Championships and finished first on bars.
Kate competed her first year of level 9 during the 2018 season but unfortunately was only able to compete three meets during the season. Kate came back strong for the 2019 season beginning her season at the Garden State Classic where she won the bars title and came in second on beam. Two months later at the New Jersey State Championships, Kate brought home the gold medal on bars and bronze in the all around and qualified to regionals. At regionals, Kate had a fantastic meet and won the bars and all around titles as well as a second place finish on beam and punched a ticket to the Eastern Championships. Kate concluded her season at Easterns earning a silver medal on bars. Currently, Kate trains 25 hours per week under coach Ashley Umberger at North Stars Gymnastics in New Jersey.

Gymnastics has been a key part of my life since I was three years old. Beyond gymnastics, it’s taught me life skills such as finding a love and passion for something, time management, setting and accomplishing goals, confidence and a responsibility for my own direction as a gymnast and person. I fell in love with the sport and started my gymnastics career at Bill Austin's Gymnastics in Sugar Land, TX. I spent the majority of my compulsory years at Iron Cross Gymnastics in Richmond, TX. After my level 6 season in 2011, I moved to Stars Gymnastics in Houston, TX and have been there ever since.
In 2013, I placed first in the all-around with a 38.925 and first on uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise at the Level 7 State Championships. I moved up to level 8 for the 2014 season where I placed third in the all-around with a 38.350, first on uneven bars and second on floor exercise at the State Championships. I qualified to the Region 3 Championships, finishing first in the all-around with a 38.450. I also placed first on balance beam, second on uneven bars and third on floor exercise. As a level 9 gymnast in 2015, I placed in the top ten in the all-around with a 37.250 and seventh on uneven bars scoring a 9.500 at the State Championships. At the Region 3 Championships, I finished second in the all-around with a 37.350, third on balance beam and floor exercise and fourth on vault. I qualified to the Level 9 Western Nationals in Spokane, WA where I placed seventh in the all-around with a 37.200 and sixth on balance beam and floor exercise.
At the level 10 State Championships 2016, I placed fifth in the all-around with a 37.775, second on uneven bars and fifth on floor exercise. I finished fourth in the all-around with a 37.875, second on uneven bars and third on balance beam and floor exercise at the Region 3 Championships, I qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Ft. Worth, TX. I was voted Gymnast of the Year by my teammates in 2014, 2016 and 2018. In 2017, I placed second on uneven bars and third on floor exercise at the State Championships. At the Region 3 Championships, I finished sixth in the all-around and first on floor exercise. I qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Indianapolis, IN where I placed 12th in the all-around with a 37.200, seventh on uneven bars and tenth on floor exercise out of 57 gymnasts. In 2018, I placed first on uneven bars, floor exercise and in the all-around with a 38.600 at the State Championships. At the Region 3 Championships, I finished second in the all-around with a 38.225, first on uneven bars and second on balance beam and floor exercise. I qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Cincinnati, OH, finishing in the top 15 in the all-around with a 38.000 and fourth on uneven bars. Katie Finnegan was born on May 14, 2003. Her parents enrolled her in dance , gymnastics and soccer classes at three years old. She loved gymnastics and started competing Level 5 in 2012 at 8 years old. She won AA title with a 37.975 at the New York Early State Championships.
Competing Level 6 for the 2013 season, she finished 1st AA with a 37.425 at the NYS Early State Championships. She tested out of level 7 in 2014 at the Manhattan Classic winning the AA title with a 38.375 and moved up to Level 8. At the NY State USAG Championships, she placed 1st AA with a 37.850, 1st on floor exercise and 2nd on uneven bars. She qualified for the Region 6 Super Team and finished 6th AA with a 37.925 and 3rd on uneven bars and floor exercise.0
At 12 years old, as a level 9 gymnast in 2015, Katie finished 2nd AA with a 38.050 and 1st on uneven bars and balance beam at the NY State Championships. She placed 1st AA at the Region 6 Championships with a 38.100. 1st place uneven bars, 1st balance beam, 1st floor exercise and 2nd place vault. Katie won the Level 9 Eastern Nationals AA Title with a 37.950 and placed 1st on vault and floor, 2nd on uneven bars and 7th on balance beam. During her Level 9 season, Katie was also competing at Elite Compulsory and Qualifiers, qualified at the Ranch for the Hopes Championship, and was planning to verbal her commitment with a Top 5 NCAA gymnastics team.1
Shortly after, in 2016, Katie left the culture of her gym and decided she needed a change. She dealt with the loss of her beloved grandfather, chose to stop homeschooling to go back to high school and found a new gym. 2018 was a fantastic first Level 10 season for Katie at Apex Athletics. She started competing Liukin Invitationals and came in 1st AA for her 4th NYS Championship. She came in 2nd AA for Region 6 and 7th AA with a 38.0 at Nationals in her first Level 10 Season. She also verballed with the University of Georgia on a full athletic scholarship for the 2022 season.2
In 2019, Katie had a perfect season. She came in 1st AA at every meet with her highest AA score of 38.625 at the Presidential Classic, and received her highest vault (9.825) and bar (9.850) scores as well. She earned her 5th AA NYS USAG JO Title, came in 1st AA Region 6 for the 2nd time, and placed 6th AA at Nationals with a 38.125, 3rd in bars (9.675) in her 2nd Level 10 Season. In July 2019, she received a call from the University of Georgia asking if she could graduate early to join them for the 2021 season and she said “YES!” So, with SO MUCH coordination from her school district, in her last JO season, at 16 years old, Katie will be completing her Junior year at Kings Park High School, her Senior year online, and graduating an entire year early while fulfilling her commitment to a seven meet competition schedule with her Apex teammates as New York’s most decorated gymnast.3

Kendall Torrens - Empire Gymnastics Academy

Kendall Torrens got her start in gymnastics at the age of four in a recreational class. Shortly after beginning classes, Kendall was asked to join the team program at Empire Gymnastics Academy. Less than one year after beginning gymnastics, Kendall began competing in 2013 as a level 1. The following season, Kendall competed level 3. Kendall quickly progressed throughout the season and finished first on vault, bars, and floor at the District Championships. One month later at the Texas North State Championships, Kendall won the vault title with a 9.725. In 2016, Kendall competed just one meet of level 4 where she finished second on vault. Kendall tested out of level 5 to prepare for the 2017 season.
Kendall began her optional career as a level 6 at the Friends Of Achievers Meet. Here, Kendall finished in the top 5 on bars and floor. Kendall had a great level 6 season and concluded her season with a win on floor at the Texas State Championships scoring a huge 9.925. Competing level 7 during the 2018 season, Kendall began her season at the Alamo Classic where she finished third on bars, floor, and in the all around. Three months later at the Texas State Championships, Kendall brought home the bronze medal on beam. From state, Kendall qualified to the Region 3 Championships. Kendall finished up her season at regionals winning the floor title and finishing third all around.
As a level 8 in 2019, Kendall kicked off her season at the Alamo Classic winning the beam title and taking second all around. In February, Kendall competed at the Biles National Elite Qualifier where she earned her Hopes compulsory score. Kendall had her best meet of the season at the Rose City Classic where she scored a perfect 10.0 on floor, winning the event as well as winning the bars and beam titles. In March at the Texas State Championships, Kendall won the bars and beam titles and finished second on floor and in the all around. For the second year, Kendall advanced to the Region 3 Championships. Here, Kendall concluded her season winning the bars title and brought home bronze medals on floor and in the all around.
Kendall began her 2020 level 9 season with an amazing meet at the Alamo Classic winning the floor title with a 9.800 and finishing third all around.
Currently, Kendall trains 25 hours per week under coaches Chris Brashier and Beatrice Mihaila-Crivineanu at Empire Gymnastics Academy. Kendall's goal for the 2020 season is to qualify for the Hopes Classic. In the future, Kendall hopes to earn a college scholarship to a Division 1 school for gymnastics. Kennedy Cochran is 11 years old and currently training level 9 at Gold Medal Gymnastics in Chandler, Arizona. She began competing level 3 in 2014. Kennedy has placed at state every year she has competed and taken home 1st place AA in 2017 as a level 6 and 2018 as a level 8. At the end of her level 8 season, Kennedy was selected to be a member of the Level 8, 2018 Arizona State Team. Kennedy placed 1st with a 9.700 on floor at the 2018 Regional Championships. She is very excited for the opportunity to be considered as 2018 Gymnast of the Year.
Kennedy has trained at Gold Medal Gymnastics for her entire gymnastics career under the coaching of her mother - Amanda Borden and Kristin Fanning. Kennedys favorite event to compete is floor, however she enjoys training all events. Throughout her time competing, Kennedy has had the opportunity to travel to other states and attend camps and programs to further her training. While attending those camps, Kennedy has had the chance to be coached by other olympic athletes, olympic coaches, and college gymnasts. She feels fortunate to have had the opportunity to learn from such influential people.
She is continually focusing on her training and nutrition in order to prepare herself for wherever her gymnastics career takes her. She has set a goal for herself to obtain a college scholarship. Outside of gymnastics she loves to travel with her family, spend time with her friends from school and gymnastics, draw, and go shopping with her mom!

Hi, I'm Kyra! I started gymnastics at 3 years old at the YMCA in Joplin, MO where I started competing in a YMCA League at age 5. After moving to Kansas City, I started competing USAG Level 4 at age 6. I currently train at Xtreme Gymnastic and Trampoline in Lee's Summit, MO where in 2018 I finished my 4th year as a Level 10. Some of my Level 10 accomplishments include : JO National Qualifier - 2015 (NIT), 2016 (9th Vault), 2017 (5th Beam, 8th Vault, 18th AA), 2018 (1st Bars, 6th Beam, 1st AA); 2018 JO National Team Member; 2018 Region 4 Vault, Beam and AA Champion. Pushing through many different struggles, I am currently competing my 5th year as a level 10. I am verbally committed to the University of Missouri (Go Tigers!) on a full ride scholarship beginning in 2020-2021. After college I want to go into the medical profession and work with kids(and maybe coach gymnastics too). I currently work at my gym as a Girls Instructional and Xcel Coach and I also help with floor choreography for the Xcel Program. In my spare time I love to draw, make Pinterest crafts, spend time with friends and family and watch Netflix - especially Grey's Anatomy. Hello, my name is Lilla and I am very excited to be nominated for Gymnast of the Year amongst so many great gymnasts. I am a full time middle school student and attend gymnastics practice 6 days a week. I am currently competing level 8 for San Mateo Gymnastics. I started in mommy and me gymnastics at age 2 while watching my older sister at regular practice and knew gymnastics was for me! Luckily I got the chance to join the JO team and started competing level 3 at age 6.
Some highlights have been representing Norcal at the National Judges Cup as a level 7, and being on the Norcal State teams (Level 6 and 7) at Region 1 Championships. My favorite times have been traveling with the Norcal Judges Cup team where I got to be on a team with other gymnasts from Northern California, and watch great gymnastics from all around the country. I also love traveling with my own club team and visiting other parts of the country!
Gymnastics has affected so many parts of my life. I have learned to focus and not give up on skills that are challenging to me. I have learned to work through injury and how to balance a full school schedule and sports. I always try to improve my gymnastics for each day, meet and level. In my opinion, gymnastics is a sport that requires perseverance because even if you don’t do as well as you wanted there is always a chance to get better. The best reward of being a gymnast is working hard and seeing results and getting to learn new skills.

Lily Pederson Level Junior Elite

My name is Lily Pederson, I am a 13 year old Junior Elite gymnast. I train at Flips in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. My coaches are Bart and Lori Roskoski. I train approximately 25 hours per week while still attending public school. I started gymnastics when I was 5 years old. I was moved to the level 3 team when I was 6 years old. Once I competed in my first real meet as a level 3 I was hooked! I achieved my goal of becoming an elite gymnast in January of 2020. I hope to make it all the way to the US Championships and place well enough to make the Junior National Team!
I started taking classes at Flips when I was 6 years old. I made it to team level 3 when I was 7 years old. At 8 years old I moved to level 4 and qualified for state. When I was 9 years old I moved up to level 5 and again qualified for state, where I won the floor state championship for my age group. That same year I skipped level 6 and was moved to the level 7 team, which had already started their season. I trained with the level 7 team for about 2 weeks before competing in my first level 7 meet, where I qualified for state again! After level 7 state I moved to level 8. Our level 8 team had an undefeated season, capping it off by winning the state championship, Flips first ever!0
I was also named to the Minnesota Super 8 team that year. After level 8 regionals were over I began working on my level 9 skills, with my goal to compete as a level 9 and make it back to regionals and then to Westerns. I ended up scoring out of level 9 at my first meet of the season and moving directly to level 10. I was 11 years old, Flips youngest ever level 10 gymnast! While competing as a first year level 10 I was also training for my first year in HOPES. I managed to not only qualify to regionals as the youngest level 10 in the state of Minnesota but I also made it to nationals!! I placed 5th in the all around at my very first ever nationals!! I also qualified to the HOPES Classic, where I placed 2nd and advanced to the HOPES Championship.
At the HOPES Championship I placed 4th and was named to the HOPES National Team!! That summer I was invited to the USAG developmental training camp in Tennessee. I have been attending camp ever since. My goals for 2019 are to make it back to nationals again and this time finish even higher. I have already qualified to the HOPES Classic for the second year. My goal for HOPES is to win the HOPES Classic and the HOPES Championship. My goals for 2020 are to qualify as a Junior Elite and make it to the USAG Championships and to be invited to national training camp. My long-term goals are to receive a scholarship to a D1 school and to compete for the USA at the Olympics in 2024 or 2028!!!

Hi! I am Lorelei Dalton, Level 9, Flight School Gymnastic., I began gymnastics when I was 4 because I was climbing the walls and tumbling on the furniture. My coach came over to find out why I was in a Rec. class after the first week. I moved to pre-team and kept learning skills. I didn’t join the team until I moved gyms to my current gym Flight School Gymnastics in Torrance, CA. I really enjoy learning new skills. I think my favorite event is bars, but I love all the events. I love training and hope to continue through college. I was the Region 1 Level 7 Floor and AA champion in 2018. I was SoCal State Level 8 Bars champion and Region 1 Vault, Floor, and AA champion with 2nd place finishes on bars and beam for 2019. I have just begun my Level 9 season and I’m working hard for a great season.
I spent about a year out of the gym when I was seven years old. I wasn't really out of the gym, I attended a recreation gym with my very first coach while I was waiting for my new gym to open. I did my best to keep my skills with limited equipment. I still go visit my first coach. I think she has influenced me to learn to be a coach.
I have two brothers, Grady 15 and Rhys 9, that are always there to support me along with my parents. My little brother goes to all my meets so he can keep score for the team. I attend San Pedro High School Visual and Performing Arts Magnet class of 2023. I am a freshman with honors classes and one of only two 9th graders in the honors Algebra 2 class. I currently have a 4.0 GPA. I am not completely sure what I want to be when I grow up, but physical therapy or teaching are some thoughts right now. I'd really like to coach and own a gym of my own someday.

After that unfortunately I fractured by foot in 2 places and couldn't compete at Regionals. I am currently working to qualify Jr. Elite this year. I am also competing level 10. I ABSOLUTELY love competing.
I am the youngest of 4 girls and my sisters call me Stinky. I love to wear footie pajamas all the time and anything fuzzy. I have a huge collection of stuffed animals that take up almost half of my room. I started gymnastics at the age of 5. I have a very quite voice and a funny personality. I am very superstitious in all things.
I love people and God always is first in my life. I am very active in serving in my church and serving others. I am so very grateful for the talent that God has blessed me with. I am a level 10 gymnast competing for Head Over Heels in Emerville, California. I was introduced to gymnastics at the age of 8 at a summer camp and fell in love with the sport. Shortly after the summer camp I was invited to compete for a JO team. I started the sport much later than most of my teammates and have worked hard to build the foundation, strength and technique needed to learn new skills. I am thankful for my coaches who push me to do my best every day, the support of my parents and my amazing teammates who I have been blessed to share this journey with.
My journey has not always been easy gymnastics is a sport that requires hard work, commitment and dedication. Currently I train 6 days a week and commute 2 hours each day to gym. I started homeschooling in middle school to have a more flexible schedule to better balance my gymnastics and academic work. Over the years I have learned to develop time management skills and discipline. Like most gymnast every season there are skills that don’t always come easy, the experience of working hard to achieve or perfect a skill and reaching that goal is what I’m most proud of.
In level 5 and 7, I made the NorCal State Team. In Level 7, I accomplished one of my goals which was to represent NorCal as a member of the State Team at the Region 1 Championship. In 2019 my level 7 scores placed on Americas Top 100 scores: Bars: 9.850, Beam: 9.800, AA score 38.875. As I look back it’s the journey that I am most proud of. Hard work and perseverance always pays off. In the future, my long term goal is to earn a college scholarship to a top Division 1 gymnastics program.

Olivia started gymnastics at the age of 3 at The Little Gym in Scarsdale, NY. By 5 years old, Olivia was doing standing tucks and displaying tremendous talent in the sport. Someone at her recreational class recommended that she try competitive gymnastics. At this age she was great at tumbling but had no idea where gymnastics would take her.
Fast forward to 2017 -- Olivia was pretty set on quitting gymnastics. She had just finished her first level 9 season. She felt down and defeated about not living up to her own expectations. Olivia's parents wanted to try one last thing before they let her leave gymnastics forever -- they changed gyms. The decision to take her over an hour away from home to North Stars Gymnastics Academy in NJ, would be a big sacrifice but worth the try. The first 30 days at Olivia's new gym were rough. There was so much for Olivia to learn and revamp before the season began. She was not used to this type of practice or work ethic. Every day she was nervous to point of headache and it seemed to be the end of gymnastics for such a gifted girl. It was heartbreaking. Something happened after that 30-day trial. Olivia was excited again. She couldn't wait to get to practice. She was talking about her future in gymnastics again. North Stars had turned Olivia into her alter ego, "STORM," once again! (A powerful nickname for such a humble girl).
The 2017-18 gymnastics session began and Olivia was off to a great start. She still struggled on certain events but overall looked like a rock star. Olivia's coaches were slowly building her confidence back up. Mid season, Olivia was on a roll but then two weeks before the NJ State competition, BAM, she landed short in her double back tuck, spraining her ankle. She missed the two gymnastics meets leading to States and wasn't sure if she could perform all events at the meet. Olivia went to States and fell on floor, and beam. It was a shaky meet! She managed to qualify for the Regionals competion next. At Regionals, Olivia was ready and got her record high scores on vault, floor and AA. She now was feeling ready for Eastern Nationals. Walking into Nationals, Olivia turned to her mom and said "I'm not nervous. I'm going to win." She went out there and did just that! Olivia won floor and the AA at Eastern Nationals.
Olivia feels good about her future in gymnastics, and has set some big goals. Still driving over an hour each way to the gym she now calls home, Olivia is grateful for the support on the path ahead. Winning Gymnast of the Year would be an honor for a regular, degular, schmegular girl from the Bronx just trying her best to reach her goals.

HI, I'm Tatum & I started gymnastics at the age of 2. It took me a few different invitations to join the competitive team at my gym. It was a beautiful pink leo with rhinestones that finally won me over and after competing & winning AA at my first meet I was hooked! I am now training level 10 at Oklahoma City Gymnastics in OKC, OK. My amazing coaches Giovanna (Gou) Romero & Manuel Navarez push me to do my best & to reach my goals.
In 2018, I was the top qualifier for the Oklahoma team that represented our state at the National Judges Cup State Challenge in Portland, OR. I finished 2nd AA at that meet & the Oklahoma team finished 4th. I also received the Nadia Spirit award at the Nadia Comaneci Invitational presented by Nadia herself. As a level 7, I finished 2nd AA at my state meet and ended my season as the Region 3 Bar and Floor champ and 2rd in the AA. As a level 8, I placed 1st AA at all but two of my season meets & qualified to regionals again. At regionals I finished as the Region 3 Sr A bar & floor champion as well as finishing 3rd in the AA with my season best score. As a level 9, I placed 1st AA at state, 4th AA at regionals, and went to Westerns placing 2nd on Beam & 4th in the AA.
Gymnastics has taught me so many things. I have learned about discipline & determination, that sometimes things are hard but fighting through brings so much joy, that courage is not being scared but continuing despite the fear, that the rewards far outshine the disappointments & that failure is only the beginning of success. Gymnastics is so much more than what you see in the Olympics & I am so grateful to be able to be a part of it. I have been blessed to be a part of an amazing gym with an awesome group of girls that have encouraged & continue to encourage me along my journey.
My long term goal is to compete in college & be able to give back to my sport through coaching & judging. It is such a great honor to be nominated for Gymnast of the Year!!! I feel that God has given me a great talent & I hope to give Him all the glory!

My name is Tia Agdeppa Ravara. I was born on April 18, 2002 in Fremont, CA to George and Teodorie Ravara with two younger sisters, Geordie who is a 15-year old actress and singer, and Rylie Anne, an 11-year-old aspiring Computer Engineer. I am first year Level 10 gymnast at San Mateo Gymnastics in Belmont, California and coached by Melia O’Quinn and Ashot Gasparyan. I practice 4 hours a day, 6 days a week. I am a graduating senior at Bishop O’Dowd High School. I have committed to University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Gymnastics Team, and have been admitted to their Pre-Med Program.
How did I start gymnastics? During our annual family camping trip in 2007, I kept doing pull-ups on every tree I came across, so my mom said I needed to try gymnastics and enrolled me in a recreational gymnastics class. At the end of class, a JO coach asked me to try out for the team. I tried out and successfully joined the development team at Top Flight Gymnastics and at my very first meet, Gypsy Invite, I won first place on Beam with a 9.200 score. I then placed second on Vault at the Level 4 NorCal State Championships under the coaching of Olga Pantelus, Beth Strong, and Tatyana Pantelus.0
I moved to Pacific West Gymnastics in April 2010 under following coaches: Level 5: Hanako Miura, Michelle Largen, Jen Apodaca, Alan Fujinami, Donna Craig, and Maria Traggio Rivera Level 6: Jenn Battaglia, Rodica Apateanu and Maria Traggio Rivera, Level 7: Jenn Battaglia, Rodica Apateanu Level 8: Jenn Battaglia, Rodica Apateanu, and Liviu Mazilu Level 9: Kelsey Witten and Hanako Miura During the eight years at Pacific West, I earned 12 Gold, 16 Silver, and 13 Bronze medals in Zone/State/Regional/Western Championships. 1
In May 2018, I moved to San Mateo Gymnastics, and competed in Levels 9 and 10, earning 2 Gold,1 Silver, and 2 Bronze medals in State/Regional/Western Championships.2
Gymnastics has been a part of my life since I was Kindergarten. Over the years, I chose gymnastics over friend’s birthday parties, playdates, school dances, football games, friend get togethers, movies, watching TV, study groups, and even sleep. To me, the 24 hours in six days every week is worth it. I love the rush of swinging through the air between bars, flipping in the air onto a 4-inch beam, running at full speed to the vault table, and dancing to classical music. I am a Gymnast, but I am also a Black Belt, a Teacher, a Coach, a future doctor, and so much more! 3
Honesty. Integrity. Perseverance. Self-control. Indomitable Spirit. Those are the five words I have learned throughout my nine years leading up to my Tae Kwon Do Black Belt. Though I no longer attend classes every week, those five words have been ingrained into my being. Today, I stand tall knowing I do my best to uphold the five tenets of Tae Kwon Do.4
I have been blessed to have an opportunity to attend Bishop O’Dowd High School through the Presidential Scholarship Award, Bay Scholars Award, Knights of Columbus Scholarship, Black Catholic Ministry Award, FACE (Family Aid - Catholic Education), Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary Scholarship, as well as additional Financial Aid through the school. No words of thanks truly reflect my gratitude for the education and community I obtain here. Therefore, I must give thanks through my actions.5
At Bishop O’Dowd, I’m an advanced leader in the Campus Ministry Team (CMT) and an executive member on the Filipino Club. In CMT, we organize the spiritual service, create skits to translate the Catholic readings into a universal understanding for the school community, prepare charity drives, leading prayer in the morning, and participate in the Freshman and Sophomore Retreats. During the Frosh retreat, I lead a small group of freshmen in discussions about their high school life to help them better understand each other, connect with others, and branch out. In Filipino Club, I’m part of the executive council, where I’m in charge of helping the freshmen to learn the choreography to our tinikling dance. I serve as Dragon Ambassador at my school because I believe Bishop O’Dowd is an amazing educational institution, the teachers are phenomenal, the community is family, and I love sharing this with others.6
Outside of school, I do community service at my church. I am an altar server, where I help the priest during a liturgy. I’ve been doing this so long that I’ve been asked to teach younger kids how to altar serve. I have started my second year of being a Faith Formation teacher, where I teach 4th-8th graders about the Catholic Sacrament of Reconciliation. I’ve found that I love working with kids and being around their energy puts a smile on my face. I helped coach Track and Field for All Saints Catholic Youth Organization (CYO). I was in charge of organizing the kids so they could run their race or do their field event. During the summers, as a Black Belt, I also teach TaeKwonDo to children in Grades TK-8. Coaching kids on sports is another joy for me. I love seeing the excitement when a child learns a new skill after struggling to master it. Serving my church is the gift I give to God who blesses me with everything in my life.7
I hate to admit it, but Reading is not my best friend. I can read and I do enjoy it; however, it does not come easy, especially after coming home at 9:30pm from a 4-hour gymnastics practice everyday. Despite these facts, I still maintain a 3.83 cumulative GPA. I am more of a Math and Science girl. I dream of becoming a Pediatrician and know that would entail a lot of reading (to say the least). I will continue to work hard to get there. To me, becoming a doctor is like learning a new gymnastics skill. I will fall learning new skills, I will be frustrated; I will even be bruised and scraped, but in time and hard work, I will get it and be great.8
I am not perfect nor am I the best. I am simply a girl with dreams and the focus and drive to achieve them!9

Whitney Bjerken - Georgia Elite GymnasticsLevel 10

Whitney Michelle Bjerken was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on March 4, 2005. She was a speedy delivery and has not slowed down since. Whitney has two brothers and one sister, Sterling (18), Braxton (13), and Blakely (11). She also has a dog named Houston. Whitney played soccer and took ballet like everybody else when she was 3 and 4 years old, and then her mom put her into cheerleading. Whitney loved cheerleading and found out she was pretty good at doing cartwheels and the splits. As a result, Whitney decided to try gymnastics after the cheerleading season was over...and she has never looked back. Whitney is now a level 10 gymnast at Georgia Elite Gymnastics and is in the gym 5 days a week. Whitney loves gymnastics and she has always been a hard worker. These two facts combined with excellent coaching has led Whitney to great success in the sport to date. Whitney has won the All-Around Georgia State Championship 4 times and has won the Region 8 All-Around Championship twice. When Whitney was just 5 years old, her family started uploading videos of her gymnastics meets on YouTube so that her grandparents, who live in Minnesota, could watch her compete. Whitney’s videos were discovered on the internet and some of her videos started to go viral. Whitney continued to make videos and now her YouTube channel has more than 1.24 million subscribers with over 465 million views. Whitney tries to make videos that will help girls understand the world of gymnastics, or at least her experience in it. Whitney is also a talented musician who plays the piano, guitar, and writes her own songs. She released her debut album in December, 2019 entitled Disappear. Like almost every competitive gymnast, Whitney has had her share of injuries through the years. Unfortunately, she acquired osteochondritis dissecans of the capitellum in her right elbow in 2018 which eventually let to surgery. She missed the 2018 competition season and had to endure a year long recovery from the surgery. She fought back and returned to form just in time for the 2019 competition season. Whitney had an incredible year winning the All-Around at The Gala, her first meet back. In fact, she hit every routine of the entire season, until her final bar routine at JO Nationals where she overshot her pak. Unfortunately, Whitney’s osteochondritis dissecans returned in her right elbow and she had reconstructive surgery in December of 2019. Whitney was presented with the option to retire from the sport, but laughed at the thought of it and plans to be back and better than ever in 2020. "You may see me struggle, but, you will NEVER see me QUIT."

Amoree fell in love with gymnastics at an early age. While her mom worked in the front office of a local gymnastics club, Amoree would be in the gym flipping on and off the equipment, and learned a back handspring when she was just three years old. By age 4, she was on the competitive team. Since then Amoree continued to reach or surpass her gymnastics goals, winning the All Around at JO Nationals in 2016 and most recently verbally committing to the University of Oklahoma on a gymnastics scholarship.

Hi! My name is Cadence Gormley and i’m a level 10 gymnast. I train 20 hours a week at Virginia International Gymnastics School. I’m a 17 year old senior in high school, and this is my 6th season as a level 10. I’m super excited for this gymnastics season because I can’t wait to perform with confidence! Next year, I will be on the University of Kentucky’s gymnastics team! Go Cats :)
9 years ago, when I was 5 years old, my friend in Kindergarten invited me to a birthday party at a local gym. Right then and there, something magical clicked and I instantly fell in love with the sport. I then signed up for classes at River City Gymnastics. Within the next few years, I somewhat flew through the levels and really started to gain my passion and focus for gymnastics.
This year, I’m working really hard to become super consistent and comfortable with my routines. While also adding new, challenging skills! A few goals I have for the future are to qualify for the Nastia Luikin Cup, qualify to JO Nationals again & place on podium, and qualify to the JO National Team. I’m also excited to look more into colleges to hopefully find the “one”! For, college gymnastics has always been a dream of mine!
Some of my most memorable highlights of my gymnastics career include: 2x State event champion, 2017 Eastern National qualifier, 2x Junior Olympic National qualifier, 2019 balance beam National Champion, & 2019 Region 7 All Star Team Member.

Daisy took her very first steps on a spring floor when she was a baby. She began her official gymnastics training at a YMCA in Northeast Wisconsin at 18 months old. When her family relocated to Texas in 2014, she was extremely fortunate to find Texas Best and Coach/Owner Tricia Guertel. Under the guidance of Tricia and Coach Alex, Daisy has excelled in both compulsory and optional competition. She is a consistent gymnast in both skills and scores. She is very detail oriented and works to perfect her skills with an eye toward competing at higher levels. Daisy especially loves performing and finishing with a smile. Daisy is honored and delighted to be nominated for Gymnast of the Year.

I am Elizabeth Gantner and I am 15 years old from Indianapolis, Indiana. I train at JPAC with my coaches, Dave Marus and Jaycie Phelps and I will be a first year Senior Elite in 2020. In 2019, I qualified junior Elite at the Biles Invitational placing second All Around and first on bars. I participated in Developmental camp at Flip Fest and the Junior Worlds Trials at EVO in Florida and then the American and US Classic. In 2018, I qualified to Level 10 JO Nationals where I placed on bars. I qualified Junior Elite at the Auburn Elite Qualifier placing first All Around and first on bars and beam. After an amazing level 8 season in 2016 which ended with 5 gold medals at the Region 5 championships, my coaches and I decided I would compete level 10 and try to qualify Hopes in 2017. Early in the year, I competed one meet at level 9 and achieved my elite compulsory score before competing my first level 10 meet at Metroplex in Texas. In February, I made my Hopes Optional score at the Brestyans Qualifier in Las Vegas. In my second ever level 10 all around meet in Orlando, I went 4 for 4 and qualified to the Nastia Liukin Cup with a 38.175. I followed that with another 38+ all around at our own JPAC Midwest Showdown. I had an amazing time at the Nastia Cup even though it wasn't my best meet. I went on to States, Regionals, and JO Nationals where I was State and Regional beam champion and finished third on beam at JO Nationals. I am thankful for all of the support from my family, my coaches and my teammates and look forward to my first year as a Senior Elite!

At the ripe old age of 13, Farah Lipetz was the first commit to the University of Michigan for 2022...the third in the country to commit for her age. Farah's reputation precedes her. She is widely known for her precise form, consistency, maturity and mental toughness...put her last on any event and she will get results! But, this prowess came with blood, sweat and tears. Starting her elite career in HOPES, Farah made a name for herself with her clean lines and fierce determination. She decided to go to a professional school for her middle school years in order to train extra hours at the gym. This proved successful because that year she won her all-around elite qualifier, the Macabbi World trials and Regionals. She then went on to be an All-Around top 10 JO National champion three years in a row, placing 2nd and 3rd nationally on beam, another Regional AA champion medal, 2nd at states several times and a member of the 38 club all by 14 years old. But, these achievements came with perseverance. Stress fractures in both feet sidelined her for a couple of months, but that didn't stop her.....she just got on those bars and perfected her skills. Coming back wasn't easy, but she made 7th at Nationals even with a few trips, which eventually secured her place at Michigan. Farah was a top 10 finalist for GOTY two years ago and was also nominated last year. She is a member of the National Honor Society at Northport High School and is said to be the most renowned gymnast in NY state. Farah is fiercely loyal to her coach, Tammy Marshall, who has been by her side supporting her career for 8 years. She feels blessed to have this incredible sport in her life and can't imagine ever doing anything else. She said, " I was made for this sport, I am a gymnast mind, body and soul."

Hi! My name is Georgia Lassa, I'm 13 years old and a level 9 gymnast at The Klub Gymnastics! My favorite event is floor because I like to show off my personality through my routine! I started gymnastics when I was six years old at a recreational center at the park for only 1 hour a week. The coach told my parents I was very strong and should try to look for a good gym. My parents did not know anything about gymnastics at the time, so they didn't know where to look for gyms. My dad past by one gym and we decided to give it a try. I tried out at Los Angeles School of Gymnastics and they put me into the team group. I started to train nine hours a week to get ready for level 2. My first level 2 meet and first time ever competing was on September 28, 2013. I competed the rest of the level two season getting lots of ribbons. I competed 1 level 3 meet with LASG and finished the rest of the level 3 season with All Olympia Gymnastics Center. I was level 3 state champion on Vault and second place All Around. I started the level 4 season at the end of 2015 and got a 9.8 on floor at the 2016 North Sectional Championships. I also got level 4 vault state champion. In level 5, I was floor and AA state champion. In level 6, I was floor state champion. Lots of amazing things happened during the level 7 season! I was vault, beam, and AA state champion! I also got to represent SoCal at the 2018 Level 7 Region One Championship. I got my highest All Around score at that meet with at 38.9. I moved to The Klub Gymnastics close to my level 8 season. I got Beam and Bars Regional Champion and second place AA at the 2019 L 8,9,10 Regionals. I am currently in level 9! I train 27 hours a week at The Klub Gymnastics. I love spending time with all my coaches and friends at gym and most of all spending time with my family at home. During my free time I do school, play board games with my little sister, and make TikToks. I am online public schooled in 8th grade. I don’t know what I want to study in College, but I hope to do College gymnastics in the future.

I started doing gymnastics at the age of 3 doing a mommy and me class. It wasn’t until I started to really enjoy gymnastics at the age of 7/8 when I started to compete on team at Airborne in Santa Clara. Through the years I have had success in and out of the gym. Most recently transitioning into options is where I became AA champion at level 7 and 8, as well as making the Region 1 team for both levels. I also was the region 1 AA champion and was on the 38 club twice. Outside of the gym I have maintained a 4.0, while training 30 plus hours in the gym. Gymnastics has become an important part of my life because I love doing it, but the friendships I have formed are lifelong. Looking forward to competing level 9 this year, 2020. When I was 5 years old, I watched Gabby Douglas compete in the 2012 Olympics. I was mesmerized, from that day on I have dreamed of the Olympics. I am the youngest of 5 children, and began telling my siblings I was going to the Olympics. To get support from my family and friends I taught myself to do back handsprings and aerials.
A few years later my parents took me serious and signed me up for recreational class at a local gym. After a few months, my mom decided I needed to be challenged more. She researched other gyms in the state and took me to North Stars where I began competing in less than 6 months. I competed level 4 successful, and became state champ on floor exercise and second overall. The following year I switched gyms and went to MG Elite, where I competed level 7 and finished 3rd overall at states. My third year competing has been the best by far. I successfully competed level 8, accomplishing several amazing goals this year. I managed to score a 39.025 at the Parkettes Invitational I came in 1st place on vault, floor and bars and 3rd on beam and 1st overall.
Woga Classic was another exceptional meet, I scored 38.925 and came in 1st on every event. My other meets were equally as exciting I scored 38's at all with the exception of 1, and placed 1st or 2nd overall at every meet. My first visit to Regional's was absolutely amazing I finished 1st on vault, beam and floor, and second overall. My proudest moment is ranking 2nd and 4th on America's top 100 level 8 gymnast. I am extremely honored to be a contender for gymnast of the year!

Hi, I'm Kylee Burton from Metroplex Gymnastics in Allen, TX. I am currently a level 10 and I am in 8th grade attending PCAplus online. I love spending time with my family, friends, and dog! I train 31 hours a week with my teammates/best friends! Last season as a level 9, I finished first in the all around at the Texas State Championships with a 38.775. I also placed first on beam with a 9.725. I went to compete regionals, winning floor with a 9.575. After qualifying to J.O. Western Nationals, I competed in the JR 5 category, placing 2nd on vault with a 9.6 and 5th on bars with a 9.55. I finished my season winning floor with a 9.65, beam with a 9.625, and AA with a 38.425! My dream is to attend a major university on a full-ride gymnastics scholarship and to have the opportunity to compete for a National Championship! Leeiah Davis was born on June 24, 2004 in Winter Haven, FL to Demetrius and Martha Davis. She has three siblings; Darneisha, Dakahree and Jase. Leeiah's dad is a longtime solider in the United States Army, so Leeiah and her family relocated several times the last few years.Leeiah was flipping all over the place and jumping off everything, so her mom decided to enroll her into gymnastics. She began her gymnastics career at A.S.D Gymnica Vicentiana in Vicenza, Italy. When she was living in Italy, she participated in the Series C Championships.In 2013, Leeiah and her family moved back to the United States. Leeiah trained at GymKix Gymnastics in Copperas Cove, TX from 2013-2015. When Leeiah was at GymKix Royals, she qualified to the 2015 Level 7 State Championships. Following her 2015 season, Leeiah and her family relocated to Maryland. Leeiah had a solid level 8 season at Win-Win Gymnastics where she placed sixth in the all-around and second on vault at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 7 Championships, finishing seventh on vault. In the summer of 2016, Leeiah moved to Hill's Gymnastics.Leeiah competed level 9 in 2017 where she placed third in the all-around and first on uneven bars at the State Championships. At the Region 7 Championships, she finished fifth in the all-around with a 37.275. She qualified to the Level 9 Eastern Nationals in Lansing, MI where she placed sixth on vault with a 9.500. Liam began his USAG experience as a gymnastic competitor in 2014 at Gymnastics Unlimited in Northglenn, CO. He started competing at Level 5 (2014-15 season) and has been promoted a level every year. In 2018, Liam competed at Level 8 and placed 2nd at the Colorado State Meet and 4th in Region 9 (CO, NM, UT, WY) including a Silver Medal Floor routine and a Gold Medal H-Bar routine. Liam's coaches for his 2017-18 season were Michael Pinter and Stevie Gragg (@ GU); Michael was Liam's primary coach since he began at GU in 2014. Lydia started competing Level 3 just before her 8th birthday. The following year she competed Levels 4, 5 and 6 and also 9 y/o TOPS testing, earning a spot on the TOPS B team. At 10 Lydia competed Level 7 and also made the TOPS A team, earning third place in physical abilities at camp. In 2018 she competed Level 8 and did well, taking second place at States and in the Region 1 championships. In 2019 she had a strong Level 9 season, winning all of her regular season competitions and taking first at State. Coming back from an injury in 2020 she repeated Level 9 until COVID ended the season. Lydia competed Level 10 in 2021, placing third at Region One Regionals and qualifying for nationals, where she placed 14th in the Junior B division.
In addition to gymnastics, Lydia loves math and is active in the National Charity League and Scouts BSA. She aspires to do gymnastics in college.0

During the 2015 National TOPs Testing (where she made TOPS A Team) she got invited to Developmental Invite Camp.0
That year she also competed level 4 in spring and level 5 in fall. 1
Milana became an absolute all-around champion at 2015 NorCal level 5 South State Championships showing the highest score of the meet (300 gymnasts total), and making State Team.2
In 2016 at the NorCal levels 6 & 7 South State Championships at the age of 8 Milana once again showed the highest AA score of the meet (450 total gymnasts), and again made State Team. 3
That year she attended all 3 Developmental Invite Camps (with an invitation to come back in 2017).4
In spring 2017 at age 9 Milana had a strong level 8 season, making State Team, and bringing home AA silver from Region 1 levels 8-10 Regional Championships (with the highest AA score of all fellow level 8 NorCal gymnasts). 5
In June 2017 Milana joins Developmental Camp led by Valeri Liukin and National Coaching Staff at Olympic Training Center in Texas.6
Two weeks following the camp Milana injures her left knee and withdraws from training for 10 months, skipping 2018 season, and withdrawing from Hopes Elite Training.7
Due to the injury Milana had to turn down invitations to join July and October Developmental Camps.8
Milana comes back in 2019 and has a strong level 9 season where she makes Sate Team, Regional team, and qualifies for Westerns.
Following an elbow injury in May, she is cleared to come back in late August. Milana is repeating level 9 in her 2020 season.

Miley Ler Level 9/Hopes

Hi! I'm a level 9 gymnast training Hopes at Pearland Elite. Last season, in level 8, has been my favorite so far since it started with making the National TOPS Team and going to TOPS camp with 4 of my teammates! I'm the most proud of my improvement on beam- I took first place at Level 8 State in Texas. I also, got 2nd on Floor, 3rd on Vault, and 4th on Bars, finishing 2nd AA! I made the Top 100 on beam, twice on floor, and in the all around. It was a really great season. Right now I'm taking a season off to let my back heal from an injury, but I can't wait to get back to training level 9, and hopefully Hopes for next year.

Hi! My name is Sabrina Visconti, I am one of 4 children and live just outside of Boston Ma . I have been doing gymnastics since age 4 at Brestyans. I was born to tumble , I just love it. My gym is my second home , I love how my coaches push me to be the best version of me and I always give 110% My teammates are my best friends and when I’m not at the gym I love to bake, shop, write and organize things !
Welcome to my page, I am now a sophomore at an in person school.. since I have had this page some things have changed . I was at Brestytans since i started gymnastics, Mihai and Silvia sold the gym, things were very unsettling. I have since left and now train at Nohas gymnastic academy in Manchester, NH. I am a 3rd year level 10 and still have plans to train elite as well.

Sophia Esposito- Phoenix Gymnastics, NY Level 15

Sophia began her gymnastics career at a mommy and me class at the age of 2 .She was always climbing and jumping like a little gymnast. She starting competing at the age of 5 and has been competing ever since. With a few injuries along the way, she was always determined, strong willed, and focused to keep persevering through the difficult times. Gymnastics has been such a key part of her life and has taught her life skills, confidence, and knowing what it is like to find a love and passion for something. She continues to set her goals and find her way as a gymnast and a person. She has been training hard as a level 10 gymnast for the last 3 years. Sophia would love to receive a scholarship to her college of choice one day. She has been traveling in the summer and attending a few summer college camps in hopes of some recognition and experience at collegiate level. Her favorite event is beam because she gets to preform and show her artistic talent. Sophia continues to train at Phoenix Gymnastics in Old Bethpage, NY five days a week 4 hours a day, with her teammates. Besides Gymnastics, her passions are art, traveling, music, biking, and using whatever spare time she has to hang out with her friends. She ended her year with great success. She came in 1st place AA at Regional with a 37.90. States with a 37.775 (3rd place) and 37.525 at Nationals. She continues working towards her goals and becoming the best she can be.

Born in Richland, WA in January 2004, Tirzah started attending gymnastics classes with her daycare provider at age two because “she had too much energy” and was climbing the door frames. She started in toddler gymnastics at Garland’s Gymnastics Academy in Kennewick, WA and progressed with Coach Brett Garland and Coach Erin Piel to their pre-team class. When she was five, she transitioned to the TOPs program at Mid-Columbia Gymnastics with Coaches Todd Sawyer and Jeanine Ruby and began homeschooling through Seton Home Study School starting with kindergarten. She began competing in level five when she was seven. Tirzah qualified for TOPs National Testing and traveled to the Karolyi Ranch at ages 8, 9, 10 and attended TOPs development camp at the ranch at age 9.
As Tirzah moved up through J.O. levels 7, 8, and 9 she never lost sight of her dream to become an elite gymnast. With the help of Coach Angie Jefferson at All-American Gymnastics in Richland, WA, and at the advice of national coaching staff, in 2016 she attended a try-out at Salcianu Elite Gymnastics in Henderson, NV. Subsequently, she and her family moved to Nevada in September of 2016 to begin training with Tammy and Sorin Salcianu and their team in Henderson, NV. In February 2019, she qualified junior elite compulsory at the Rocky Mountain Qualifier in Salt Lake City, UT. She qualified elite compulsory again at the Peppermint Twist Qualifier in Minneapolis in December 2019. Currently she is training level 10/elite with coaches Tammy and Sorin Salcianu, Trevor Rubino, and Cheri Shipp, and working towards junior elite optional qualifiers in 2020.

When I was 8 years old I decided I really wanted to learn how to do a back handspring so my parents signed me up for gymnastics. I quickly fell in love with all aspects of gym even though I started out just wanting to tumble. As a late starter to the sport, I have had to work very hard to catch up to teammates my age, but it has been a rewarding journey. Even though it took me 18 months to finally get that back handspring I wanted, I remained determined. I am so glad I didn't give up because things really took off from there. In the spring of 2017, on my 4th anniversary of beginning gymnastics, I finished the season as a Region 8, Level 8, First Place AA, Vault and Beam Champion. I look forward to what lies ahead in my training. Good luck to everyone this upcoming meet season!
