From finding her 7 feet high on a pantry shelf in my kitchen laughing and looking for something I thought had been hidden away, to the toddler who would not sleep more than two hour intervals. I looked to recreational gymnastics as a way to burn the endless energy and to feed her curiosity in a safe but challenging environment. A year later her Grandfather said, "she was so lucky to find her 'JOY' so early in life." He was right. By the time Izi was 4, she understood how flexible she was and could hold her own weight in a handstand against the wall. Izi had participated in most of the recreational classes available. She was always asking when was Tammy and Sorin going to notice her. I would tell her, it's not time yet. When she was 5 1/2 years old she was invited to join the Salcianu Elite Gymnastics Team. From that day forward, her love for the sport has grown as strong as she's become on so many levels and would average 1150 hours a year training . In the compulsory years Izi took whole heartedly to the commitment, discipline and hunger for excellence the sport required. Those three traits would be challenged with T.O.P.S training, the transition to optional gymnastics and her own personal physical growth all happening at the same time. It was no longer Izi waiting on the coaches, but the coaches challenge to keep her physically strong to meet the demands of her physical growth. Isabella, continued to work hard and consistently applying herself with extra effort, not to cheat herself and eventually, all balanced out. The sport has given Izi many personal development opportunities early in life, maturity, independence, strong character, and a iron will that will help her grow into the leader she is destine to become. Her empathy for all that goes on around her is one of her greatest assets. Izi brings her drive for excellence, grace, artistry, perseverance, and sportsmanship to the sport of gymnastics.
